
GPT-NeXT: The AI Model “100 Times More Powerful” Than GPT-4
About a year and a half after the launch of GPT-4 in March 2023, users were informed that they could anticipate the release of a brand-upgraded and new version of ChatGPT within the next few months. In the very not-too-distant future, actually—before the end of 2024.
Tadao Nagasaki, the director of OpenAI in Japan, has revealed details regarding the much-anticipated successor to GPT-4 The model has been dubbed GPT NexT.

While Nagasaki isn’t quite spilling every drop of (metaphorical) beans, however, he’s certainly shown us more information than we had before, and based on the details that he presented at the KDDI Summit just a couple of moments ago, it appears that GPT-NeXT will perform amazing things.
What Did Tadao Nagasaki Reveal About GPT-NeXT?
It shouldn’t come as a surprise to those who are familiar with the world of technology that it appears that this “big news” about OpenAI’s innovative new model wasn’t entirely revealing. Similar to the way that tech giants enjoy sharing news about new products, this was more than an introduction. A little more detail regarding the forthcoming release we did not have before keeps us interested.
Let me say that it was an epic teaser dimension because it went hand in hand with a powerful affirmation.
Nagasaki has stated clearly that not only is GPT NeXT predicted to be superior to GPT-4, but it’s also expected to be more than 100x more efficient.

What Will Make GPT-NeXT So Powerful?

The majority of the information presented at KDDI concerning NeXT was presented as slideshows (or specifically just one slide), but, even so, the presentation offered an amount of information that was not available before.
GPT-NeXT is anticipated to be distinct from versions in the future, such as GPT-40 or GPT-5 Strawberry It is expected to use the smaller version of GPT-5 Strawberry. Strawberry.
Project Strawberry (other than being named after something that was possibly created by hungry toddlers) is a research project that was created in the name of OpenAI and has attracted a lot of attention since. It employs a specific method designed to enhance the performance of AI models so that they become more precise after having been taught a large amount of general data.
Additionally, the dramatically improved efficiency of NeXT is expected to result from enhancements to the architecture of the platform, not simply an increase in computing power.

In theory, this is a subset of AI that has the potential to exceed the human brain and capabilities.
Naturally, given that Project Strawberry is thought to be on the verge of reaching AGI and GPT-NeXT is expected to utilize Project Strawberry in one way or another, it appears like OpenAI is very ambitious. If they’re successful and they succeed, then increasing the capabilities of the GPT-4 by 100 could be in the near future.
What can we expect of GPT-NeXT?
The only thing we can go on is speculation and a few large promises regarding what GPT-NEXT will achieve, and it’s difficult to be certain.
If Nagasaki as well as OpenAI is correct regarding what they’re trying to accomplish, it could have a major impact on the future of artificial intelligence.
This calendar year, Mira Murati, the CTO of OpenAI, has made remarks about the future of GPT in which she compared their levels of intelligence to those of people of various years of age.
Murati referred to “the new model,” which was at the time unclear. But now we can safely assume that this was a reference to GPTNeXT following Nagasaki’s recent claim that NeXT is expected to have 100 more power than the previous models.
Mira Murati has compared GPT-3 to being as intelligent as an infant, GPT-4 to being able to think like students in high school, and lastly, “the new model” (AKA GPT-NeXT) has the potential to become more intelligent adults.
Not just normal adults with decent intelligence—PhD-level adults. Another sign that OpenAI’s latest model is designed to create artificial general intelligence.
What are we looking towards in the coming year? A brand new version of artificial intelligence that may be smarter than humans?
Although it’s not entirely untrue, it’s terrifying to think about. Are we at the point where AI is smarter than humans? Are robots poised to take control of the world?
It’s probably not.
There’s no doubt that openAI is making amazing advancements in its latest and enhanced models, advancing in leaps and bounds at a much faster pace than we could imagine 10 years ago. And their latest model will likely be awe-inspiring and far more sophisticated than the GPT-4.
But, having said that, policymakers across the globe are working hard to establish AI rules that ensure that everything is in order, even if they can’t always succeed.
At present, we’ll be waiting to watch what the rest of the year holds until we’re able to be able to make our own judgments about whether or not the GPT-NeXT lives up to the hype.
